How We Process Your Data

Uploaded documents are sent to an AI model for analysis. The AI extracts line items, CPT codes, and charges to identify potential billing errors. Here is what happens during that process:

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data or uploaded documents with any third party. Your documents are processed solely to provide you with billing error analysis.

The only third-party service involved is the AI provider (Anthropic) used to analyze document contents. Their data processing is governed by their own privacy policy and enterprise terms, which prohibit using customer data for model training.

HIPAA Disclaimer

ClaimCheck is not a HIPAA-covered entity. We are a consumer tool that helps you review your own medical bills. We are not a healthcare provider, health plan, or healthcare clearinghouse. While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, we do not claim HIPAA compliance.

If you are concerned about sharing sensitive health information, you may redact personal identifiers (name, date of birth, SSN, member ID) from your documents before uploading. Our error detection works primarily from line items and billing codes.

Data Retention and Deletion

To request immediate deletion of your scan results, contact us at the email below with your scan ID.

Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption). Uploaded files are stored in a temporary directory with restricted access and are not publicly accessible at any point.
